Mérieux NutriSciences announces divestment of Silliker Netherlands B.V. to Normec Group

Chicago, IL – October 1st, 2025 – Mérieux NutriSciences, a world leader in food safety, quality, and sustainability, today announced the successful divestment of its Silliker Netherlands laboratory, based in Ede,  to Normec, a leading testing, inspection, and certification services provider, headquartered in the Netherlands.

The Silliker Netherlands laboratory specializes in Food Microbiology and Waste Water Chemistry testing. In a highly concentrated and competitive Dutch market, growth opportunities have been limited and, after careful consideration of different options, Mérieux NutriSciences concluded that a sale to Normec, a strong local player with the market positioning and resources to support the lab’s future growth, was the most responsible option.

This transaction does not affect Mérieux NutriSciences’ other activities in the Netherlands. These include consulting and sustainability services provided by Mérieux NutriSciences | KTBA and Mérieux NutriSciences | Blonk, as well as the Rotterdam-based Mérieux NutriSciences Netherlands high-end chemistry laboratory, specialized in contaminants testing.
