REACH 2018 registration

On May 31st, 2018 REACH registration terms will expire for manufactured or imported chemical substances exceeding 1 ton, but not 100 tons per year.

The new revision of the European Regulation (EC) no. 1907/2006 REACH, envisaged by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) and concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, aims at ensuring a high level of protection for human health and environment against the risks that can be posed by chemicals.

Companies that manufacture or import chemicals to Europe in quantities exceeding one ton per year must identify and manage the risks linked to substances. REACH establishes procedures for collecting and assessing information on the properties and hazards of substances and requires their registration in a central database managed by ECHA.
