{"id":139454,"date":"2023-05-04T12:36:21","date_gmt":"2023-05-04T11:36:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test.merieuxnutrisciences.com\/fssc-22000-version-6-has-been-published\/"},"modified":"2025-03-03T11:13:59","modified_gmt":"2025-03-03T11:13:59","slug":"fssc-22000-version-6-has-been-published","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.merieuxnutrisciences.com\/za\/fssc-22000-version-6-has-been-published\/","title":{"rendered":"FSSC 22000 version 6 has been published"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-fssc-22000-scheme-version-6-which-succeeds-fssc-22000-v5-1-was-published-on-31-march-2023\">The FSSC 22000 Scheme version 6, which succeeds FSSC 22000 V5.1, was published on 31 March 2023.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The GFSI-benchmarked standard FSSC 22000 offers a comprehensive strategy for managing food safety. It combines the FSSC 22000 additional requirements with the applicable technical standards (ISO\/TS 22002) and the ISO 22000 food safety management standard.<br>Version 6 will have a 12-month transition period to allow organizations to prepare for the new Version and CBs for implementation and gaining accreditation. The first audits to Version 6 will commence from 01 April 2024 onwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main factors that initiated the development of version 6 are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Incorporating the requirements of ISO 22003-1:2022<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthening the requirements to support organizations in their contributions to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Editorial changes and amendments as part of continuous improvement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the primary requirements, such as ISO 22000: 2018 and ISO\/TS 22002-x series are still applicable, there are a few changes to the additional requirements. Managing the certification audit programme is one of the other changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scheme documentation is available at the following link, and downloads are free:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fssc.com\/schemes\/fssc-22000\/documents\/fssc-22000-version-6\/ \" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FSSC 22000 Version 6<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-overview-of-the-main-changes-in-version-6-of-the-fssc-22000-scheme\"><strong>Overview of the main changes in Version 6 of the FSSC 22000 scheme:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Realignment of the Food Chain Categories in accordance with ISO 22003-1:2022.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The scope has been expanded to include Trading and Brokering (FII) and reduced by removing Farming and FSSC 22000-Quality from the scheme.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration of the requirements on food safety and quality culture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New requirements on quality control, food loss and waste, and equipment management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthened existing additional requirements in Part 2 of the scheme, including but not limited to allergen management and environmental monitoring.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Changes to and clarification on requirements for the Certification Process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Addition of a QR Code on FSSC 22000 certificates for improved traceability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-services-offered-for-fssc-version-6-implementation\"><strong>Services offered for FSSC Version 6 implementation:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Implementation Support of the FSSC 22000 V6 requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assisting the client with the implementation of the changes from V5.1 to V6.
