A contamina\u00e7\u00e3o dos alimentos com estas subst\u00e2ncias \u00e9 o resultado da bioacumula\u00e7\u00e3o nas cadeias alimentares aqu\u00e1ticas e terrestres, e da utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de materiais em contacto com os alimentos contendo PFAS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O \u00e1cido perfluorooctanoanossulf\u00f3nico (PFOS) e o \u00e1cido perfluoro-octanoico (PFOA) e os seus sais s\u00e3o os PFAS que se encontram nos alimentos e nos seres humanos na maior concentra\u00e7\u00e3o e que t\u00eam sido amplamente utilizados industrialmente devido \u00e0 sua estabilidade qu\u00edmica e t\u00e9rmica. Estas subst\u00e2ncias s\u00e3o muito persistentes no ambiente. Embora j\u00e1 n\u00e3o sejam utilizadas, a bioacumula\u00e7\u00e3o tem ocorrido em ambientes aqu\u00e1ticos e terrestres, contribuindo para a exposi\u00e7\u00e3o humana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A EFSA emitiu um parecer em 2020 estabelecendo n\u00edveis de ingest\u00e3o toler\u00e1vel de PFAS, baseada principalmente na prote\u00e7\u00e3o contra os efeitos destas subst\u00e2ncias sobre o sistema imunit\u00e1rio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Com base nas recomenda\u00e7\u00f5es da EFSA, a Comiss\u00e3o Europeia (CE) quer estabelecer limites para os PFAS em determinados alimentos. Isto implicar\u00e1 uma altera\u00e7\u00e3o ao Regulamento (CE) n.\u00ba 1881\/2006, estabelecendo teores m\u00e1ximos para certos contaminantes nos g\u00e9neros aliment\u00edcios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 26 de Agosto de 2022, a CE publicou a Recomenda\u00e7\u00e3o (UE) 2022\/1431 sobre o controlo de subst\u00e2ncias perfluoroalqu\u00edlicas (PFAS) em determinados g\u00e9neros aliment\u00edcios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <strong>CE recomenda aos Estados-Membros que controlem durante os anos 2022-2025 a presen\u00e7a de PFAS<\/strong> nos alimentos, especialmente em: <strong>frutas, legumes, ra\u00edzes e tub\u00e9rculos amil\u00e1ceos, algas marinhas, cereais, frutos secos, oleaginosas, alimentos para lactentes e crian\u00e7as jovens, alimentos de origem animal, bebidas n\u00e3o alco\u00f3licas, vinho e cerveja<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Os Estados-Membros, em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com os operadores do setor alimentar, devem recolher informa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre concentra\u00e7\u00f5es de PFAS em produtos <strong>crus e transformados<\/strong> do mesmo lote de produtos crus e determinar fatores de transforma\u00e7\u00e3o para v\u00e1rios produtos transformados, em particular, <strong>queijo, soro de leite em p\u00f3, gema de ovo, produtos de padaria fina com elevado teor de ovos e produtos \u00e0 base de carne que contenham f\u00edgado.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uma investiga\u00e7\u00e3o mais aprofundada das causas da contamina\u00e7\u00e3o deve ser levada a cabo quando os seguintes n\u00edveis indicativos forem Estados-Membros, que t\u00eam a capacidade para analisar PFAS em alimentos para animais, devem tamb\u00e9m controlar neste produtos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A fim de assegurar a fiabilidade e consist\u00eancia dos controlos oficiais sobre os n\u00edveis m\u00e1ximos de PFAS em determinados alimentos, dever\u00e3o ser estabelecidos requisitos detalhados para os m\u00e9todos utilizados para a amostragem e para as an\u00e1lises laboratoriais.
