Estes s\u00e3o classificados em <strong>PCBs sob a forma de dioxina e PCBs n\u00e3o semelhantes a dioxinas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Os <strong>PCBs n\u00e3o semelhantes a dioxinas<\/strong> (NDL-PCB). s\u00e3o subst\u00e2ncias qu\u00edmicas org\u00e2nicas persistentes que se acumulam no ambiente e nos seres humanos e que est\u00e3o associadas a v\u00e1rios efeitos na sa\u00fade. Nos alimentos, os <strong>n\u00edveis de contamina\u00e7\u00e3o mais elevados<\/strong> ocorrem nos produtos da <strong>pesca<\/strong>, <strong>ovos<\/strong>, <strong>leite <\/strong>e na carne de animais terrestres. Em oposi\u00e7\u00e3o, os alimentos de <strong>origem vegetal<\/strong> registam os n\u00edveis de contamina\u00e7\u00e3o <strong>mais baixos<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.efsa.europa.eu\/en\/efsajournal\/pub\/1701\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">estudo EFSA de 2010<\/a>). Os alimentos para animais apresentam uma tend\u00eancia semelhante, com n\u00edveis de contamina\u00e7\u00e3o mais elevados nos alimentos para animais derivados de peixe e n\u00edveis mais baixos nos alimentos para animais derivados de plantas ou minerais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-exposicao-e-toxicidade-das-dioxinas-e-pcbs\">Exposi\u00e7\u00e3o e toxicidade das dioxinas e PCBs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As dioxinas e os PCBs est\u00e3o normalmente presentes em concentra\u00e7\u00f5es baixas na maioria dos alimentos. S\u00e3o resistentes \u00e0 degrada\u00e7\u00e3o biol\u00f3gica, altamente lipof\u00edlicos e acumulam-se em numerosos produtos alimentares, particularmente os de origem animal. Para al\u00e9m disso, s\u00e3o consideradas <strong>carcinog\u00e9nicas<\/strong>, representando um perigo significativo para a sa\u00fade dos consumidores. Felizmente, nem todos os compostos cong\u00e9neres dentro desta vasta gama apresentam o mesmo n\u00edvel de toxicidade. A Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Mundial de Sa\u00fade (OMS) identificou <strong>17 dioxinas (PCDDs e PCDFs)<\/strong> e <strong>12 PCBs<\/strong> como altamente t\u00f3xicos, para os quais foi estabelecido um <strong>fator de equival\u00eancia de toxicidade (TEF)<\/strong> . Este fator permite combinar a toxicidade de diferentes dioxinas e compostos sob a forma de dioxina, possibilitando a compara\u00e7\u00e3o de matrizes com quantidades vari\u00e1veis de subst\u00e2ncias qu\u00edmicas.<\/p>\n<p>Os n\u00edveis m\u00e1ximos foram estabelecidos com base nos dados de ocorr\u00eancia compilados no relat\u00f3rio cient\u00edfico da EFSA \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.efsa.europa.eu\/en\/efsajournal\/pub\/1701\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Results of the monitoring of non-dioxin-like PCBs in food and feed<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Em 2018, a EFSA<a href=\"https:\/\/www.efsa.europa.eu\/en\/efsajournal\/pub\/5333\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> confirmou as conclus\u00f5es de avalia\u00e7\u00f5es anteriores<\/a>, afirmando que a exposi\u00e7\u00e3o alimentar a dioxinas e PCB sob a forma de dioxina &#8211; poluentes ambientais presentes em n\u00edveis baixos nos g\u00e9neros aliment\u00edcios e nos alimentos para animais &#8211; constitui uma preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o para a sa\u00fade.
