Alloys are a match of two or more elements and at least one is a metal. The resulting material thus has different metallic properties that are often better in quality than those belonging to single components. The monitoring of their quality is of paramount importance in every stage of the metallurgical process, because even minor changes in the mix can lead to a lower quality and a bad performance. Mérieux NutriSciences assesses alloys quality and their compliance with technical specifications and international standards.

Composition alloys
The basic composition of metal alloys influence both chemical and physical characteristics and performance of products; the content of the main features and possible micro-pollutants in various types of alloy can be determined by emission spectrometry techniques.

Steel classification
Products designation and their suitability for specific uses can be checked by comparing the data from the compositional analysis of metal alloys and specifications of international standards.
