This new regulation introduces several important changes aimed at enhancing food safety standards across the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-key-changes\">Key Changes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-deletion-of-references-to-regulation-ec-401-2006\"><strong>Deletion of References to Regulation (EC) 401\/2006<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reference to&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/data.europa.eu\/eli\/reg\/2006\/401\/oj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Regulation (EC) 401\/2006<\/a>&nbsp;concerning the sampling and analysis of tropane alkaloids and ergot sclerotia has been removed. This change follows the publication of precise rules in Implementing&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/data.europa.eu\/eli\/reg_impl\/2023\/2782\/oj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Regulations (EU) 2023\/2782<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/data.europa.eu\/eli\/reg_impl\/2023\/2783\/oj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2783<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-adjustments-for-t-2-and-ht-2-toxins-in-bakery-products\"><strong>Adjustments for T-2 and HT-2 Toxins in Bakery Products<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The content requirement for oat milling in bakery products considered to have a high oat content has been lowered to better set maximum levels for T-2 and HT-2 toxins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-hydrocyanic-acid-content-in-linseed\"><strong>Hydrocyanic Acid Content in Linseed<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has been clarified that the maximum hydrocyanic acid content for linseed applies independently of the seed processing phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-rewording-of-product-titles\">Rewording of Product Titles<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Titles of certain products concerning the setting of maximum levels for ochratoxin A, zearalenone, deoxynivalenol, fumonisins, hydrocyanic acid, dioxins, and PCBs have been reworded for clarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-exemption-definitions-for-rice-based-products\">Exemption Definitions for Rice-Based Products<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Specific rice-based products exempt from certain provisions have been clearly defined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-distinction-between-powder-and-liquid-form-products\">Distinction Between Powder and Liquid Form Products<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A distinction has been made between products marketed to infants and young children in powder form and those in liquid form regarding maximum PAH levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-dehulling-process-clarification\">Dehulling Process Clarification<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has been clarified that the dehulling process is considered part of the cleaning process and not as a first transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Implementation Date<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This regulation shall apply from\u00a0<strong>July 16, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Services Offered by M\u00e9rieux NutriSciences<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">M\u00e9rieux NutriSciences provides a wide range of services to food manufacturers for food\u00a0contaminants\u00a0risk management and quantification, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.
