Wherever possible, ecotoxicological studies are accompanied by tests to verify the concentration and stability of the test substance in the sampling system.

Seaweed and aquatic plants

Inhibition studies on algae growth are performed using different study methods, in compliance with the current OECD and ISO Guidelines. According to the request, studies on algae can be carried out with different species of freshwater or marine waters green algae.

Aquatic invertebrates

Acute toxicity studies are performed on Daphnia magna and other invertebrates (e.g. Artemia). Test design is customized according to the different needs of the customer and in full compliance with the test element or application technique.

Fish

Acute toxicity studies, as well as studies on early life cycle and life cycle itself (two-generation tests) are conducted on cold or warm water fish such as Oncorhynchus mykissBrachiydanio rerioCyprinus carpio and Pimephales promelas. Depending on the aim of the study, static, semi-static or flow-through tests are performed.

Acute toxicity studies are conducted under static or semi-static conditions on Brachiydanio rerio. Other species provided for by the official guidelines (e.g. OECD) can be introduced upon specific customer’s request.
