Monica Borgogno, Sensory and Consumer Manager will deliver the speech “Sensory, feelings and emotions: the role of sensory science for supporting your product development and its communication”. The sensory experience plays a key role in purchasing, especially cosmetic products that are directly applied to the skin and involve all five senses: a citrus cream, a foundation with a light texture, a lipstick with intense color. Therefore, describing their sensory properties and understanding users’ perceptions is essential. Sensory sciences are a scientific discipline that allows the drawing up of the sensory profile of products and linking it to end users’ liking, emotions, and feelings. This helps various departments of a cosmetics company –Quality Control, Research and Development and Marketing– to be supported in their work.
