Legionella testing consists of carrying out testing on these pathogenic bacteria according to the international standard ISO 11731:2017.

Legionella are pathogenic bacteria. There are several types such as Legionella pneumophila of serogroup 1 which are responsible for most epidemics in the world. Present in natural aquatic environments it can contaminate public water systems such as swimming pools, piping, hot water showers, air cooling towers, wells and reservoirs.

Legionella diseases, such as legionelosis,  remain under-diagnosed today. However, surveillance is becoming more and more widespread.

Mérieux NutriSciences carries out accredited tests with the standard ISO 11731:2017 on all these environments which are potentially contaminated. It presents quantitative and qualitative (absence or presence of Legionella) results.
