Our Regents Park laboratory in Sydney is currently seeking expressions of interest from enthusiastic results driven laboratory technician, specialising in Allergen analysis via Elisa technology. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will apply your technical knowledge and expertise to facilitate analytical procedures with a focus on quality and process improvements. In this role, you will be required to work within our established Quality Systems.

Duties include, and are not limited to:

  • Conducting a wide range of routine and specialised Elisa tests where atypical samples may be
  • involved and instrumentation has a wide range of operating variables.
  • Communicating sample requirements to other personnel.
  • Managing several tests/ tasks at once and coordinating with other people.
  • Planning your own daily work schedule requiring prioritising competing demands.
  • Adapting your skills and experience to new situations.
  • Managing contingencies.
  • Working autonomously, and taking an active role in innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding and acting on relevant systems and procedures appropriately.
  • Providing accurate and timely information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working as part of a team to achieve department KPI's.

About you
In addition to recognised qualifications in Microbiology, Chemistry or equivalent scientific discipline,you will need to demonstrate:

  • Excellent organisational skills, flexibility, proven ability to work as part of a team and attention to detail.
  • Quality-focused with good communication skills and the ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • At least 12 months experience in a Senior Microbiology or Chemistry Position within an Analytical
  • Laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of NATA and TGA requirements, as well as working to GLP and GMP standards.
  • NATA regulatory knowledge and experience will be highly regarded.
  • Experience using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) would be an advantage.
  • This is a busy and challenging role that will suit well organised individuals with excellent technical
  • and communication skills. You will be working a Monday to Friday roster.

Located at our Perth laboratory we are currently looking for a Sample Set Up Supervisor. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will be required to supervise and co-ordinate routine testing on a daily basis to ensure that the sample set up team achieves laboratory objectives  – other duties include, and are not limited to:

  • Prepare, analyse, perform and supervise samples for microbiological analysis.  This includes a wide variety of sample types including food, water, environmental and cosmetics.
  • Oversee set up laboratory activities to ensure compliance to test methods, quality systems and daily targets.
  • Assist laboratory manager to coordinate team members rosters and daily working hours.
  • Identify improvements in workflow and systems across the set up laboratory and assist the laboratory manager with implementation.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.

 

About you

• A desire to work in high-through put, customer focused environment, ideally with previous commercial laboratory supervision experience.

• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills.

• A strong desire to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time.

• A genuine interest in the Science Industry preferably with Tertiary qualifications in Laboratory Techniques.

• Previous experience in a NATA accredited or TGA licensed laboratory.

• Experience using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is desirable.

• Excellent communication to colleagues and management.

• Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot and problem solve.

Our Blackburn laboratory is currently seeking expressions of interest from enthusiastic results driven Microbiology technicians, with flexibility to work weekends.

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will apply your technical knowledge and expertise in order to facilitate analysis procedures with a focus on quality and process improvements.

In this role, you will be required to work within our established Quality Systems – other duties include, and are not limited to:

  • Use appropriate PPE to maintain safe working environment.
  • Use basic equipment's such as autoclaves, pipettes, dispensers and  balances in preparation of media and samples for microbiological analysis.
  • Perform basic testing to detect pathogens in food & water  and other analysis tests on samples in accordance with the test method.
  • General housekeeping and maintenance of laboratory and media supplies, including stock rotation.
  • Carry out quality control tests including handling of process control samples, QC of media and interpreting data.
  • Calibration of equipments.
  • Accurate login and receipt of samples & media supplies in the laboratory LIMS system.

 

About you

In addition to recognised qualifications in Microbiology or equivalent Scientific discipline, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Excellent organisational skills, flexibility, proven ability to work as part of a team and attention to detail.
  • Quality-focused with good communication skills and the ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a similar Microbiology position within an analytical laboratory environment.
  • Media preparation and quality control experience highly desirable.
