Mérieux NutriSciences hosts webinars to support global food supply chain during animal species identification crisis

Tassin, February 28, 2013 – As part of its ongoing support to the food industry during the ongoing meat adulteration and fish labelling crisis,  Mérieux NutriSciences, a pioneer in DNA testing and subsidiary of Institut Mérieux, will host several free, informative and interactive webinars reserved for clients and professionals in the food supply chain. 

Webinars are scheduled on Friday March 1, 2013 from 10h – 11h (in French) and on Tuesday March 5, 2013 from 14h – 15h (in English).

 

Christophe Dufour, Mérieux NutriSciences Scientific Director, Dr. Thomas Carton, Scientific Director, Biofortis and Anne Laure Cardou, Business Development, Biofortis, will host the hour-long sessions on animal species identification, implications throughout the global food chain and cutting-edge detection methods. In a case study, the panellists will address rising concerns by industry stakeholders, regulators and consumers over the mislabelling of horse meat and fish.
