This clinical research study to evaluate the cardiovascular safety of febuxostat compared to allopurinol in people who have both gout and cardiovascular problems.
Eligible volunteers will be participating in nationwide study for up to 5 years. There will be approximately 20 clinic visits over 5 years. Qualified participants will receive study medication and study-related medical care at no cost.
You may be eligible for this clinical research study if you have been diagnosed with gout and have a history of cardiovascular disease (includes stroke, blocked arteries, diabetes, etc.).

Biofortis Clinical Research is currently conducting a research study to evaluate an investigational medication for individuals with high cholesterol.
You may be eligible if:
• You are 40-80 years of age
• If you have a history of high LDL (bad cholesterol)
• If you have a history of heart attack and/or stroke
• If you have been advised to make dietary and lifestyle modifications, with or without drug treatment due to elevated cholesterol
• If your cholesterol levels are being monitored by a physician
Qualified participants will receive study related medication and study related assessments. All costs not related to the study, including those related to the normal treatment of your condition will be your responsibility.

Do you have High LDL – C or “Bad Cholesterol” levels?
We are looking for participants for a research study to determine if an investigational product can reduce “bad cholesterol” levels when compared with a placebo.
Qualified Participants must:
• Be a generally healthy 25 to 75 year old male or female
• Suspect you have high cholesterol or have been told you have high cholesterol levels
• Follow dietary recommendations advisable for patients with high cholesterol
• Have not used prescription medications to manage cholesterol in the past 6 months
• Have not used any non-prescription supplements for control of cholesterol in the past month

• Will attend 8 office visits over the course of 16 weeks
• Will receive the study product, clinic visits, laboratory work, and study-related care at no cost

Do you suffer from IBS-d and would like to participate in a research study?
We are looking for participants for a research study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and effectiveness of an investigational medication or inactive placebo in patients with diarrhea predominant irritable bowel syndrome.
To qualify, you must:
• Be male of female 18-80 years of age
• Have been diagnosed with diarrhea predominant IBS, with ≥25% loose or watery stool and
• Also have received a colonoscopy in the past 5 years (for those 50 years and older), or meet any one of the following alarm features:
1. Documented weight loss in the past 6 months
2. Nocturnal symptoms such as abdominal pain or diarrhea at night
3. Familial history of colon cancer
4. Blood mixed with your stool (not caused by hemorrhoids)
If qualified, you:
• Will attend 10 office visits over the course of 33 weeks
• Will receive the study product and study-related care at no cost
• May be compensated up to $50 per study visit for time and travel

Suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)?
We are currently recruiting people with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) to participate in a research study.
To qualify, you must:
• Be male of female 18-70 years of age
• Have predominantly diarrhea related IBS symptoms
• Have frequent abdominal pain associated with diarrhea for at least 6 months
If qualified, you:
• Will attend a minimum of 6 office visits over approximately 10 weeks
• Will receive the study medication or a placebo (an inactive look-alike pill) and study related care at no cost
• May be compensated up to $300 for time and travel

Do you have high triglycerides (or high cholesterol) and would like to participate in a research study?
We are looking for participants for a research study to determine if an investigational product can reduce blood triglyceride levels (fat in blood) without raising “bad cholesterol” levels when compared with a placebo.
Qualified participants must:
• Be a generally healthy 25 to 85 year old male or female
• Have constant dietary habits
• Have not used using any other product including drugs, medical foods or dietary supplements for control of cholesterol or triglycerides in the past 8 weeks
If qualified, you:
• Will attend 4 office visits over the course of 9 weeks
• Will receive the study product, clinic visits, laboratory work, and study-related care at no cost

Are you a generally healthy woman who has had a Urinary Tract Infection within the past 6 months?We are looking for female participants for a research study to evaluate the effects of a cranberry beverage on UTI recurrence.
Qualified Participants must:
• Be a generally healthy 20 to 70 year old female
• Have a history of urinary tract infections and have had at least 2 urinary tract infections treated by a healthcare professional in the past year and at least 1 treated urinary tract infection within the last 6 months
If qualified, you:
• Will attend 6 office visits and receive 9 telephone contacts during the course of 37 weeks
• Will receive the study beverage, clinic visits, laboratory work, and other study-related care at no cost
• May be compensated up to $900 for time and travel
