History

For over 45 years the food industry worldwide has trusted Silliker with food safety, quality and nutrition services through Laboratory, Auditing, Consulting, Contract Research and Education services.

Headquartered in Chicago, IL, the company has grown from a single laboratory founded in 1967 to a global presence in 18 countries with over 70 laboratories throughout North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific. This development continues in response to client needs with a growing presence in emerging countries, notably China, India and Brazil. Along with this geographical expansion came additional services offered by 2 very well known companies: Biofortis and Bioagri.

In January 2011, Silliker Group Corporation was renamed Mérieux NutriSciences Corporation to reflect the evolution of the company. An integral part of Institut Mérieux, our expertise evolved to not  only cover food safety but also to work with clients as a trusted partner to promote better global health and nutrition.

At the same time, three complementary business units were organised to deliver a wide range of services to the food and nutrition value chain.
